Hi! I’m Kate Ritchie.
I was born in Ohio, and then fell in love with a pastor from Texas. I studied education at Ohio University, and later worked at developing a children’s and youth ministry for a church plant in Lancaster, Ohio. Today, I live with my husband David in Canyon, Texas, worship Jesus, and am a fan of pretzels, ketchup, Christ-centered ministry, and corgis.
About Blog:
Love cannot exist alone. It must be experienced. It must be shared .
God is love. We can experience Him. And it is up to us to share Him with each other and a hurting world.
The point of this blog is that very thing: to love and worship a God who has loved us so purely and so passionately and to share and experience His love in the context of community.
My heart for this blog is that it would be a community for young women. A community where you are an important part. A place where you can come and read about a God that loves you and be encouraged. A place where you belong, no matter where you are from or what you are like, you share one thing with every woman here, the love of Christ. I pray that through the words of this blog you would not only know that He loves you, but experience His love as you find it to be so true. This can only truly be done as we share and participate in His love. This blog is open. Open for discussion. Open for sharing.
Each Sunday beginning in January 2010, I will be posting devotional thoughts specifically for young women. The rest is up to you. I encourage you to respond, post thoughts, experiences, prayer requests discussion questions…etc. I desire in the deepest part of me to see women join together and with one heart and one Spirit seek the heart of God together. I long for the day when our passion, love, and sincerity for God, each other, and the hurting in the world would overwhelm and destroy all the things that keep us living life isolated and alone thus far. I long for the day when that same passion, love, and sincerity would no longer be contained, but be the very thing that drives to change the world.
I look forward to our conversations. ![]()

Katie,
I work at Catholic Family Service (and know Brittanie pretty well)…since July. I would LOVE to have coffee or lunch sometime and learn what you guys are doing with refugees.
My position is new for CFS; I’m a community liaison for the refugee division and hope to connect with more churches and individuals for this important work.
I love your blog and sense we may have quite a bit in common. My blog is http://www.denadyer.typepad.com and focuses on motherhood, faith and work.
